The time for cycling is now! The fastest growing recreational pursuit in the country is aligned with addressing many of the issues currently facing our society. These include traffic congestion, pollution, and increasing health problems as a result of sedentary lifestyles and obesity. Riding a bike has major benefits for our society. As we move forwards as an organisation we are looking at taking an increasing role in the promotion of cycling in this state.

Cycling WA is affiliated with Cycling Australia and is recognised by the Department of Sport and Recreation as the state governing body for cycling. We have close working partnerships with the Western Australian Institute of Sport, Healthway, the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Department of Main Roads and Local Government. It is recognised that these partnerships are important in raising the awareness of cycling in the community.

Cycling WA currently has 17 affiliated clubs throughout the state and the scope of our operations has extended to encompass all levels of cycling. Activities conducted include racing events for road, mountain bike and track cycling, participation events, development programs, skills sessions, bicycle education, schools programs, coaching and officiating courses and bike maintenance sessions.
