"Racing 3 Race membership" and "Racing Day Membership" – online sales

Cycling Australia have now moved the temporary membership options online. This means riders can pre purchase temporary membership before they enter an event. Plus the marketing team will be contacting and prompting people to upgrade to full membership.

Non members or RIDE membership need to purchase a "Racing 3 Race membership", "Racing Day Membership" to race an event. Go to DAY MEMBERSHIP

·       Costs $38.65 (Racing Day)  or $51.20 (Racing 3 Race)  including transaction fee

·       Riders select event date when you purchase

·       Take your receipt to the race registration


 

Racing 3 race Membership -

  • Valid for entry into 3 races conducted within a perid of 3 months in a membership (calender) year

  • This permit fee is in addition to the entry fee that may be applicable for each of the 3 events

  • The fee also includes insurance that covers the rider for the duration of the race plus any official trial run or warm up that is directly related to the specific event

  • Should you wish to upgrade to full membership during the year, the fee for the 3 ride permit will be credited against the full license fee

  • Only one 3 ride permit may be purchased per person, after this to continue racing you may either upgrade to a full racing membership or purchase 1 Race Day temporary membership instead. 

Is your permit still valid and you are looking to upgrade to a Racing membership? Then you are eligible to recieve a discount (permit cost) off the cost of the membership fee you are upgrading to.

To upgrade please follow this process:-

  • Firstly retain your permit (do not throw away) as you may not be able to recieve the upgrade otherwise.
  • All upgrades have to be done MANUALLY through the Club you would like to join.
  • Complete the membership application form - click here.
  • Take the form and your actual permit to the club and they will inform you what fee you need to pay with the discount.
  • Once the fee has been paid, make sure you receive a copy of the application form that has been signed by the club and shows that you have paid for the upgrade.
  • Retain this form (until you receive your membership card) and take this form to any events you enter as physical proof of your membership.
  • The club will then send your forms and payment to Cycling Australia who will process the upgrade.
  • You will then receive a membership card in the mail once the upgrade has been processed. 

Racing Day Membership -

  • Suitable for racing events ONLY - However NOT valid for entry into State Championships or A Grade Men category in Open events

  • Only covers an event for 1 DAY - If an event is more than 1 day, participants are required to purchase a 3 ride permit

  • This permit fee is in addition to the entry fee that may be applicable for the event

  • The fee also includes insurance that covers the rider for the duration of the race plus any official trial run or warm up that is directly related to the specific event

Recreational Day Membership -

  • Suitable for ride events only eg: Amy's Gran Fondo

  • It is NOT valid for entry into racing events

  • Only covers an event for 1 DAY

  • Cost - $11.70 including GST

  • This permit fee is in addition to the entry fee that may be applicable for the event

  • The fee also includes insurance that covers the rider for the duration of the race plus any official trial run or warm up that is directly related to the specific event

CycleSport WA Temporary Membership Policy

CANNOT be used to enter:
  • Cycling Australia National Championships

  • CycleSport WA State Championships

  • A Grade Men category in Open events.

CAN be used to enter:
  • B Grade /Support Men category and lower in Open and lesser events

  • A Grade Women category and lower women’s categories in Open and lesser events.

  • Time Trial in Open Events in all categories.

  • Handicap Events in all categories. Note: The Handicapper must ensure that day licence holders ride off scratch or “chop” (ie second last group).

  • All categories in other events.

This represents a significant opportunity for clubs to include newcomers to their events, build participation and encourage club membership.
